Fort Vale was founded in 1967 by Edward S. Fort O.B.E., manufacturing parts for the fuel oil delivery industry.
By 1972 we had increased our staff to 13.
In 1975 we purchased larger premises in Nelson, and were very fortunate to be at the start of the tank container market in Europe. By this time we had developed the product range, had an experienced workforce and excellent factory and machine tools.
In 2007, the 40th Anniversary of Fort Vale, the company employs 240 people in the UK and has offices all over the World with the Fort Vale Group having 550 personel in total.
